Far de Capdepera

Far de Capdepera is a round tower structure located on the eastern coast of Mallorca, standing prominently above the surrounding landscape with adjacent buildings nearby. From its position on the headland, views extend across the Mediterranean, taking in the rocky shoreline and the island of Menorca in the distance.

The lighthouse was built in 1861 when maritime traffic along the eastern coast required stronger safety measures and navigation aids. Its construction responded to the growing need to protect ships traveling through this heavily used seaway.
