Iglesia de San Nicolás de Bari

The church features five naves separated by semicircular arches resting on eighteen reddish marble columns imported from Genoa, Italy.

The present structure, completed in 1758, replaced a 16th-century church that stood on the site of a medieval temple near a Jewish quarter entrance.

The main altarpiece displays San Nicolas de Bari in the central niche, with San Pedro and San Pablo on either side, topped by a Christ on the Cross.

Two entrances provide access to the church, with the principal facade incorporating a Baroque design and a central niche containing Saint Nicholas.

The church contains an underground cave where, according to local records, the 15th-century Virgin of the Underground statue was discovered in 1492.
