Church of San Sebastián, Villacastín

The Church of San Sebastián is a Gothic building with Herrerian architectural influences in Villacastín. The interior displays three naves with slender columns supporting ribbed vaults, with the central nave being notably larger than the side naves.

Construction began in 1529 under architect Rodrigo Gil de Hontañón, replacing a 13th-century Romanesque building that had stood at the same site. This new building reflected architectural changes happening throughout Castilla y León during the Renaissance period.

The name refers to the saint venerated for protection against plague and suffering. Visitors can see how the grand interior design reflects the community's devotion and the church's role as a spiritual center.
