Tozal de Guara, Mountain summit in Sierra de Guara, Spain.
Tozal de Guara is the highest peak in the Sierra de Guara range in Aragon and reaches 2,077 meters above sea level. The mountain is composed largely of limestone, with steep rock faces and ridges that define the character of the surrounding landscape.
The mountain range formed during the development of the Pyrenees and was shaped over millions of years by water and weather. These geological processes created the limestone layers and deep canyons that characterize the Sierra de Guara today.
The mountain forms part of the Sierra y Cañones de Guara Natural Park, where abandoned villages tell stories of past mountain communities.
The best time to climb is from May to October, when weather conditions are more stable and trails are more accessible. There are routes of varying difficulty, so plan according to your skill level and experience.
The mountain overlooks one of Europe's largest canyon systems with more than 60 canyons in the surrounding area. These river gorges attract visitors interested in activities like canyoning and rock climbing.
