Museo de los Faroles y Rosario de Cristal, Religious art museum in Zaragoza, Spain
The museum houses a collection of glass lanterns and crystal rosaries displayed within the Church of Sagrado Corazón de Jesús in central Zaragoza. The exhibition presents ornate religious objects that combine craftsmanship with devotional composition.
The collection originated in 1889 when the Royal Brotherhood of the Holy Rosary commissioned architect Ricardo Magdalena to design ornate carriages. These works grew from a tradition of religious devotion that developed across generations.
Every October 13, the collection participates in a night procession through Zaragoza's streets, with illuminated glass pieces reflecting the city's devotion. This yearly tradition has drawn people together in shared religious observance for generations.
The museum is housed within a church, so standard visitor etiquette for religious spaces applies. Appropriate dress and respectful behavior are expected when viewing the collection.
One object on display contains more than 130,000 individual glass pieces assembled with remarkable patience and skill. Additionally, 63 star-shaped lanterns represent prayers from Catholic tradition.
