Praia de Carril

Praia de Carril is a white sand beach on the Alcabre coast that stretches about 600 meters between two rocky points. The shore catches moderate waves and faces the O Morrazo peninsula across the water.

This beach sits near the location of an older Santa Baia church that once served the Alcabre settlement. A larger replacement church was built here in the late 1800s and still stands as a landmark for the area.

The beach holds deep roots in Galician fishing traditions, with local restaurants serving fresh seafood from nearby waters. Visitors can see fishing boats and nets throughout the year, reflecting how communities here depend on and celebrate the ocean.

You will find unpaved parking spaces nearby and public facilities scattered along the shore. Local transportation connections from central Vigo make reaching this beach straightforward.

This shore is one of four neighboring beaches strung along this coastline, each with its own sheltered bay and tidal patterns. The arrangement creates different swimming and water sport conditions at each location.
