Calsoa, Golden sand beach in Galicia, Spain

Calzoa, also called Praia das Barcas, is a semi-urban beach 175 metres long and 35 metres wide in the Corujo parish of Vigo. It lies on the left bank of Samil beach, separated from it by the mouth of the Lagares river, which is easily crossed. A small sand tombolo links the beach to an islet at low tide, and a large natural pool bordered by rocks lies to its left.

Calzoa, also called playa de las Barcas, belongs to the municipality of Vigo in the parish of Corujo. The sources record no founding date or resort history; its documented identity is a semi-urban beach on the left bank of Samil, separated from it by the mouth of the Lagares river, which is crossed without difficulty. A municipal decree of the Vigo council later classified it, together with neighbouring Foz, as a dog beach in summer.

Calzoa is also called Praia das Barcas, and since a municipal decree by Vigo's council it shares with neighbouring Foz the status of dog beach in summer. Bathers cross the mouth of the Lagares river on foot to reach it from Samil, and at low tide a sand tombolo links the beach to a small islet.

Calzoa lies on the left bank of Samil beach, separated from it by the mouth of the Lagares river, which is easily crossed. The PO-324 road from Samil to Canido runs right beside the sand, and Vitrasa city buses L10 and L11 serve the beach. It shares its services with neighbouring Samil.

At low tide a small sand tombolo links the beach to a rocky islet, and to its left lies a large natural pool bordered by rocks. The beach is also one of two, with neighbouring Foz, designated for dogs in summer by a municipal decree of Vigo's council.
