Toralla, White sand beach on Toralla Island, Vigo, Spain
Toralla is a roughly 300-meter-long beach along the southern coast of an island with the same name, divided into two sections by a bridge. The sand is light colored and fine, opening directly to the Atlantic Ocean.
The island was connected to mainland Vigo in the 1990s through modern infrastructure, transforming it from an isolated location into an accessible residential area. This development allowed both private occupation and public beach access.
The beach serves as a meeting point where residents and visitors interact across a pedestrian bridge connecting to the island. The residential area maintains its quiet character while the public shore brings activity to this part of the bay.
The beach is accessible by public buses L10 and L11, with entry through the footbridge from the adjacent O Vao beach area. Basic facilities are available on-site, and the best time to visit is on sunny days when the southern exposure provides continuous light throughout the day.
This beach is the only south-facing shore in Vigo and therefore receives direct sunlight from morning to evening. The location makes it the warmest and sunniest beach in the city.
