El Camello Beach, Urban beach in Santander, Spain
El Camello Beach is an urban beach on the Cantabrian coast in Santander with golden sand and moderate waves. It stretches approximately 200 meters and suits various water activities.
The beach takes its name from a natural rock formation that resembles a camel when visible at low tide. This geological feature has shaped the place's character over generations.
A statue of Neptune as a child stands on a rocky outcrop at the left end of the beach, created by sculptor Ramón Muriedas. It serves as a recognizable landmark that visitors notice while walking along the shore.
The beach has showers, footwashes, waste bins, and ample parking accessible from the S-20 motorway. Check the tide conditions if you want to see the rock formation most clearly.
This is home to the only official paddler association in Cantabria and hosts traditional Cantabrian palas games. Most visitors are unaware of this local water sports culture that shapes daily beach life.
