Santuario de la Virgen del Puerto

The Santuario de la Virgen del Puerto stands on the Sierra de la Mosca at 600 meters elevation, featuring a single nave with side chapels and Baroque decorations.

Construction of the sanctuary began during the fifteenth century, with the current structure dating from the eighteenth century, incorporating regional architectural elements.

The sanctuary holds the Descent of the Virgin celebration ten days before May's first Sunday, when the statue moves to Santa María Co-Cathedral.

Visitors can access the sanctuary daily from October through April between 8:30 AM and 2:00 PM, then 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM, with free admission.

The main reredos contains a seventeenth-century image of the Virgen de la Montaña, displayed in an elaborate Churrigueresque style setting.
