Casa Lezama-Leguizamón, Bilbao

Casa Lezama-Leguizamón is a private residence in Bilbao's Indautxu neighborhood, standing at Gran Vía Don Diego López de Haro 58-60. The building features circular towers at its four corners and decorative stone balustrades on the lower floor and upper sections.

Architects Ricardo Bastida and José María Basterra designed and built this residential building in 1922, when Bilbao was expanding outward rapidly. The house was completed during a period when the city was pushing its boundaries and creating new residential areas.

The house displays Renaissance and Baroque elements that reflected the taste of wealthy Bilbao residents in the early 20th century. This blend of styles shaped how the Gran Vía looked and became a mark of prestige in the neighborhood.

The building sits near Doña Casilda Park and is easy to reach from Moyúa or Indautxu metro stations. It is surrounded by shops and restaurants along the Gran Vía, making it a busy area for walking.

The house has separate service staircases and interior courtyards for each residential unit, preserving privacy for individual occupants. This internal layout was typical of luxury residential buildings of its era and allowed different families to live side by side.
