Aitzuri

Aitzuri is a coastal beach extending roughly 465 meters along Deba's shoreline. The surface consists of stone and gravel rather than sand, with steep cliffs rising directly from the water.

Evidence of human settlement in this area extends back to prehistoric times, with traces from the Paleolithic period. The Deba community has long relied on this coastal section as a vital point for accessing the sea.

The name comes from the Basque language and reflects the fishing heritage of the surrounding community. Local boats still rest along the shore, showing how people here have long made their living from the sea.

You can reach this spot by car via the N-633 road, though parking is limited during busy times. Regular bus services connect to nearby Basque towns, offering an alternative to driving.

A section of this beach is designated for naturist activities, drawing visitors who prefer this practice. Strong waves make the area particularly appealing to experienced swimmers and those seeking water sports conditions.
