Museum of the History of Tenerife

The Museum of the History of Tenerife occupies a former convent building and presents extensive collections documenting the island's development from prehistoric times to the present day.

The museum's collection contains numerous artifacts from the indigenous Guanche people, including tools, pottery, and everyday objects that demonstrate their lifestyle before Spanish colonization.

Permanent exhibitions showcase the evolution of Tenerife's society through displays of traditional crafts, agricultural practices, and domestic life across different historical periods.

Located five minutes from La Laguna Cathedral, the museum offers free entry on Friday and Saturday afternoons, with regular admission at 5 euros for adults and 3.50 for students.

The museum building, Casa Lercaro, features traditional Canarian architecture and contains detailed exhibits about the institutional development of Tenerife from the 15th to 20th centuries.
