Church of Vera Cruz, Valladolid, Catholic church in Platerías Street, Valladolid, Spain
The Vera Cruz Church features a central nave with a dome and three side chapels decorated with carved altarpieces and religious sculptures.
Between 1581 and 1595, architect Pedro de Mazuecos el Viejo constructed the church, incorporating an existing arch that survived the 1561 fire.
The Penitential Brotherhood of Santa Vera Cruz, the oldest of Valladolid's Easter Week brotherhoods, maintains this church as its spiritual center.
The church maintains regular visiting hours and holds special services during Holy Week, when religious processions start from its entrance.
The church contains a silver and bronze cross-reliquary from the early 17th century, housing a fragment of the True Cross.
