Church of Nuestra Señora de las Angustias, Valladolid, Penitential Catholic church in central Valladolid, Spain
The church features a triumphal arch facade with Corinthian columns, crowned by a pediment and decorated with sculptures by Francisco de Rincón.
The construction began in 1613 following a donation of 60,000 ducats from merchant Martín Sánchez de Aranzamendi and his wife Luisa de Rivera.
The church serves as headquarters for the Illustrious Penitential Brotherhood of Our Lady of Sorrows, one of Valladolid's oldest Holy Week confraternities.
The temple opens weekdays from 9:30 AM to 1:30 PM and 6:00 PM to 8:30 PM, with daily mass at noon and confessions at 11:30 AM.
The side chapel houses the polychrome wooden statue of Our Lady of Sorrows created by Juan de Juni, which received canonical coronation in 2009.
