Pazo de Cadro

Pazo de Cadro is a manor house in San Tomé de Piñeiro featuring an L-shaped layout with a crenellated tower on one side and a domed chapel on the other. The complex includes supporting structures arranged around a central courtyard that once served the agricultural operations below.

The building's origins trace back to the 13th century, with a tower added during the 15th century. The 18th century brought additional changes that expanded the structure to match the growing agricultural wealth of the family.

This manor represents traditional Galician aristocratic life, where the building combined family living spaces with working areas for lemon production. The design shows how local nobles managed both domestic life and farming operations under one roof.

The property is reached through an entrance gateway on Pardavila road, approximately 6 kilometers from Marín along Avenida Jaime Janer heading toward Lake Castiñeiras. The surrounding lemon groves help orient you as you approach the site.

A large stone balcony supported by massive consoles projects from the facade, offering views across the Pontevedra Ria and the lemon groves below. This architectural feature was characteristic of local aristocratic design and served both practical and prestige purposes.
