Platja de la Fossa

Platja de la Fossa is a golden sand beach in Calpe that extends roughly 1000 meters along the Mediterranean coastline. The sand sits in a wide bay between two natural landmarks and offers a gentle slope into the water.

The beach first received Blue Flag certification in 2004 and has maintained this designation year after year. The annual award recognizes consistent excellence in environmental stewardship and water quality standards.

Locals and visitors gather here for outdoor film screenings during summer evenings, which have become a regular part of the community's seasonal activities. These gatherings bring people together in a shared social experience by the water.

The beach includes ramps, amphibious chairs for visitors with mobility challenges, and adapted changing facilities. Staff monitors are stationed here during the summer months from July through September.

From the northern end of the beach, visitors can see both the towering Peñón de Ifach rock formation and the nearby Las Salinas natural wetland area in a single view. This combination of distinctive landmarks creates a memorable frame when looking out from the shore.
