Platja de Canyelles, Sandy beach in Lloret de Mar, Spain

Platja de Canyelles is a sandy beach in Lloret de Mar that stretches about 450 meters between two forested hills. The shoreline features light golden pebbles and is framed by dense Mediterranean pine forests.

The site transformed from a small fishing cove into a bathing beach when Lloret de Mar expanded tourism in the 1960s. This shift gradually replaced traditional uses with recreational activities.

The beach draws locals and visitors who watch traditional fishing boats and feel the area's deep connection to the sea. Small fishing structures at the edges remind people of the cove's past role in the community.

The beach lies outside Lloret de Mar's town centre, in the Cala Canyelles development, and is reached via the GI-682 road or the C-32 and AP-7 motorways. Interurban buses serve it only in July and August. Lifeguards and first aid are on duty from 15 June to 15 September. A small marina managed by Club Nàutic Cala Canyelles occupies the right-hand end.

The beach is split by rocks called Ses Roques des Mig; the left side is known as Sa Somera, where the fisherman's hut of en Joncadella stands. According to Joan Sala i Lloberas, Canyelles beach was once the capital of the Tirada a l'Art, a traditional fishing technique.
