Jardins de la Tamarita

Jardins de la Tamarita is an urban park in Sant Gervasi-la Bonanova featuring diverse vegetation including Mediterranean plants, myrtle, laurels, pittosporums, cypress, bamboo, and jacaranda trees throughout its grounds. The space contains children's play areas, table tennis facilities, and natural sections that give the garden multiple zones to explore.

The property was originally owned by the Craywinckel family before cotton manufacturer Alfredo Mata bought it in 1911 and commissioned landscaping work to transform the estate. This conversion from private residence to public green space shaped what exists today.

The Square of the Four Continents displays sculptures by Virginio Arias positioned near an oval fountain and waterfall grotto that define the garden's artistic character. These elements shape how visitors move through and experience the space today.

One of the most striking features is a century-old English oak that rises to about 23 meters and stands as a living record of the site's past. This venerable tree catches the eye immediately when walking through the grounds.
