Saint Michael church, Russian Orthodox church in Altea Hills, Spain.
The wooden structure features five golden domes and an octagonal bell tower, following traditional Russian Orthodox architectural designs from the 17th century.
The church opened in 2002 as the first Russian Orthodox temple in Spain, marking a new chapter for religious diversity in the Alicante region.
The interior contains numerous icons painted in Spain and traditional Orthodox decorations, reflecting the fusion of Spanish craftsmanship with Russian religious elements.
The church welcomes visitors from 10 AM to 2 PM on weekdays, 10 AM to 8 PM on Saturdays, and 8 AM to 6 PM on Sundays.
Construction materials for the church, including specific wood types, were transported from the Ural Mountains and assembled by Russian craftsmen.
