Puente de Colores

Puente de Colores is a self-managed social center located beneath an Avenida de Andalucía overpass, featuring colorfully painted walls and flexible multipurpose areas. The site provides space for various types of community projects and gatherings.

The site emerged in 2012 from collaboration between local residents, architects, and artists who transformed an unused area under the overpass into a functional venue. This community project demonstrated how abandoned public spaces could serve educational and cultural purposes.

The space regularly hosts community events including theater workshops, film screenings, and musical performances from different genres. These activities shape daily life and make it a meeting point for the neighborhood.

The site is easily accessible by public transportation with multiple bus lines stopping nearby and clear signage from C/ Arroyo Bueno 53. Visitors should expect varying conditions depending on the season and type of event, so checking ahead about scheduled activities is worthwhile.

The Department of Road Conservation and Renewal contributed gravel flooring and structural improvements to the site. This official support for a citizen-led project is unusual and shows how state and community could work together.
