Es Llevador

Es Llevador is a small beach on the Costa Brava combining shingle and golden sand along the Mediterranean near Tossa de Mar. The cove is sheltered by rocky outcrops that line its edges, creating a protected setting for swimmers.

This beach is part of the natural coastal landscape shaped over thousands of years by Mediterranean waves and currents. The rock formations and sand deposits were created through geological processes that continue to define the coastline today.

The beach draws locals throughout the year, especially during summer when you see families and groups settling in for the evening hours. The place has a friendly, unhurried character typical of smaller Catalan coastal communities.

The beach is easy to reach and offers good conditions for snorkeling and swimming thanks to clear water and relatively calm conditions. Morning or late afternoon visits tend to be less crowded, and the light is better for seeing underwater features.

The underwater landscape features intriguing rock formations and ledges that shelter a variety of Mediterranean marine life. Snorkelers often spot small fish, sea urchins, and other creatures living among the stones and crevices.
