Platja de Tavellera

Platja de Tavellera is a crescent-shaped pebble beach within Cap de Creus Natural Park, lined with smooth gray stones and bordered by natural rock cliffs on both sides. The beach stretches roughly 135 meters along the coast and reaches about 15 meters wide at its broadest point.

This beach has retained its original Mediterranean coastal character, remaining largely untouched by the tourism boom that reshaped much of the Costa Brava elsewhere. Its isolated position kept it from the major development that transformed neighboring areas.

The beach is woven into El Port de la Selva's maritime identity, where fishing families have maintained their traditional practices for generations in these Mediterranean waters. This deep connection to the sea shapes how locals relate to this coastal stretch.

The beach is accessible only through a several-hour hike via natural trails or by boat, as there is no direct road access to this location. Visitors should prepare for minimal facilities and bring everything they might need.

The beach functions as a naturist area where nude bathing is practiced within this protected natural setting. Many visitors pass by without realizing this is an established clothing-optional zone.
