Carrer del Mar

Carrer del Mar is an urban beach in El Campello combining golden sand with pebbles along the Mediterranean. The roughly 1850-meter stretch widens to about 75 meters and features multiple defined sections for different beach activities.

The beach developed from a fishing village where the watchtower Torre de la Illeta was built as a defensive post. This structure marked an important phase in how the settlement protected its coastal interests.

The Fisherman Monument nearby reflects how deeply this coastal community relates to the sea and fishing traditions. Local life still revolves around maritime culture, visible in how people use and value the waterfront.

The beach has lifeguard posts, public restrooms, showers, and accessible ramps throughout its length. The promenade is lined with restaurants and cafes, making it convenient to spend the entire day here.

Three breakwaters create distinct zones with different water conditions along the shore. Some areas stay shallow and calm, while others have stronger waves that draw people interested in water sports.
