Los Barquicos

Los Barquicos is a sandy beach along the Mediterranean coast near Carboneras, extending for roughly 600 m with a width of about 70 m. The fine sand offers good conditions for swimming and water sports.

The place has long been a fishing center and takes its name from the small boats (barquicos) once used by local fishermen. This maritime tradition continues to shape the region today.

The beach serves as a meeting place for the community, where fishermen and visitors gather together. Nearby traditional fish restaurants use the daily catches for local dishes.

The beach has showers, restrooms, and parking areas available. The best time to visit is in early morning or late afternoon when it is less crowded.

The name recalls the old fishing boats that remain part of the local heritage today. Visitors can still see traditional fishing vessels moored along the shore.
