Cala de Enmedio, Protected beach cove in Níjar, Spain.
Cala de Enmedio is a protected coastal cove in Níjar where sand and pebbles form the shoreline beneath surrounding rock walls. The beach offers a secluded setting with natural surroundings and no commercial development along the waterfront.
The cove was designated as a protected area within Cabo de Gata-Níjar Natural Park to preserve its natural coastal character. This coastline remained largely unaltered compared to many developed Mediterranean sections in the region.
The beach maintains a clothing-optional policy, reflecting the Spanish coastal traditions of freedom and respect for personal choices.
Access is via the AL-5106 road with a path leading down to the cove. No facilities like shops or restrooms exist on-site, so bring water and supplies for your visit.
Two rock formations flanking the cove create natural wind protection that keeps the water mild year-round. This sheltered position makes swimming comfortable even during cooler months.
