Antiguo Depósito de Aguas de Vitoria-Gasteiz

The former water reservoir features brick walls on limestone base and contains a large hypostyle hall measuring 1,000 square meters with five rows of arches.

In 1868, the Vitoria City Council commissioned this water tank to secure an adequate water supply, leading to its construction at the highest point of the old town.

The building now connects to Montehermoso Palace, forming a cultural center that provides spaces for exhibitions, seminars, and various community programs.

The water tank, designed by architect Jacinto de Arregui, could store 5,000 cubic meters of water, supplying the population for up to 12 days if needed.

The restoration project preserved water marks on interior surfaces, incorporating metal structures and new flooring while maintaining the building's industrial character.
