Marbeuf Palace

Marbeuf Palace is a noble residence in Alicante with solid stone walls and classical architectural elements spanning multiple periods. The building displays several stories with decorated courtyards and heraldic ornaments on walls and doorways.

The building came into the hands of Count Luis Carlos Rene de Marbeuf in 1776 when King Felipe V gave him the property in recognition of military service in Corsica. Over centuries it underwent various restorations that blended its original style with new architectural influences.

The palace shapes the character of the old town through its visible facades and symbolic decorations on its walls. Visitors can see how the family lived here across generations and how the rooms were used for daily activities.

The building sits in the heart of the old town, easily reached on foot and clearly visible from the main street. To visit the interior you should check beforehand if it is open, as it is not available for viewing every day.

Hidden within the palace is a private chapel dedicated to the Sacred Heart that was used by residents for religious ceremonies. This concealed space reveals how religious life was woven into daily routines within noble households.
