Jardins del Doctor Pla i Armengol, Urban park in Horta-Guinardó, Barcelona, Spain
The Jardins del Doctor Pla i Armengol is a four-hectare park in Barcelona with multiple entrances, naturalized ponds, and more than 100 tree species along with numerous shrubs throughout the grounds. The site also includes a restored central palace that now functions as a museum.
The garden was designed in 1930 by architect Adolf Florensa and originally served as the site of the Ravetllat-Pla Institute, which focused on tuberculosis research and pharmaceutical production. The location later transformed into a public park with museum functions.
The palace at the center now houses the Núria Pla museum, where visitors can see furniture, sculptures, paintings, and metalwork on display. The collection draws people to experience local artistic heritage and creative expression.
The grounds are accessible daily through four separate entrances from different directions. The nearby metro station Guinardó-Hospital de Sant Pau on line L4 offers convenient access for those arriving by public transport.
The grounds feature specialized structures such as wooden pyramids for insects and floating platforms for amphibians that many visitors overlook. These thoughtfully designed elements support the protection of local animal populations.
