Convent of Santa Clara, Gothic convent in Pontevedra, Spain.
The single-nave rectangular church features a polygonal apse, three large stained glass windows, and intricate Baroque altarpieces inside the building.
Founded in 1271, this religious complex served as a temple for Poor Clare nuns until 2017, when it closed due to lack of religious vocations.
The building became part of Galician cultural heritage in 1994 and will integrate into the Museum of Pontevedra after a complete restoration.
The convent compound includes a stone fountain with Santa Clara statue, extensive gardens spanning 12,000 square meters, and fruit tree orchards.
Local couples traditionally brought eggs and offerings to the convent seeking good weather for their wedding day.
