San Bartolomé Church, Baroque church in Pontevedra, Spain
The San Bartolomé Church extends across three naves with a Latin cross layout and features grand Doric columns on its stone facade.
The Jesuits constructed this religious building between 1695 and 1714, following architectural plans similar to the Church of Gesù in Rome.
The interior displays notable sculptures from the Valladolid school and the Santiago de Compostela Baroque school, representing religious artistic traditions.
Located on Sarmiento Street near the former Santa Clara gate, the church stands adjacent to the Museum of Pontevedra.
The church contains a statue of the Virgen de la O, depicting the Virgin Mary during pregnancy, which serves as Pontevedra's patron saint.
