Peukkula

Peukkula was an amusement park in Jyväskylä that featured multiple themed zones with fairy tale-inspired structures and Castle Peukkula as its centerpiece. The grounds included various play areas and adventure spaces designed for young children to explore and enjoy.

The park opened in 1997 and operated for nearly two decades as a destination for families in central Finland. The operation came to a permanent close in 2015 after serving the local community for almost eighteen years.

The park featured Finnish fairy tale characters who regularly moved through the grounds, organizing activities and interacting with young visitors throughout the day.

The park was located near local garden centers and could be reached by boat from a nearby harbor area. Visitors with small children could explore most attractions over a half or full day depending on the weather and children's pace.

The three-story Jepula house featured a mysterious dark corridor that added an element of gentle excitement for young visitors exploring its spaces. The building also contained multiple play areas and a rest space upstairs where families could take breaks during their visit.
