Vehoniemi automobile museum, Automobile museum in Kangasala, Finland
Vehoniemi Automobile Museum houses a collection of restored vehicles spanning different decades of automotive manufacturing in Finland and the Nordic region. The facility features motorcycles and cars displayed alongside a cafe, gift shop, and observation tower offering views of the surrounding area.
The museum was established in spring 1983 when Lilja and Olavi Sallinen opened their private collection of vehicles they had been gathering since the 1950s. This collection reflects the evolution of automotive technology and the vehicles that defined transportation in Finland across multiple generations.
The vehicles on display reflect how transportation shaped daily life in Finland and the Nordic region over generations. Visitors see how cars and motorcycles became central to how people worked and traveled in northern Europe.
The museum is open from March through December with free entry to all exhibitions. Visitors can enjoy the cafe, browse the gift shop, and climb the observation tower to enjoy views of the surrounding landscape.
The vehicle displays change frequently throughout the summer season, incorporating automobiles from private collectors and international sources that rotate in and out. This means each visit offers different vehicles to discover and rarely seen models to explore.
