Mikkeli Naisvuori water tower, Observation tower in Mikkeli, Finland.
The concrete water tower rises 43 meters above Lake Saimaa and 122 meters above sea level, offering views across the entire Mikkeli region.
Built in 1911 as Finland's first reinforced concrete structure, the tower served as an air surveillance station during both the Winter War and Continuation War.
The tower's ground floor houses a seasonal cafe that serves gluten and lactose-free waffles with organic tea while visitors observe the city landscape.
Located at Mikonkatu 23, the tower maintains regular opening hours during summer months and provides fresh water stations for visiting pets.
The hill earned its name from women who climbed it to watch historical events, including the Battle of Porrassalmi in 1789.
