The Opéra national du Rhin presents performances in three different venues across Alsace, with its main theater located in Place Broglie, Strasbourg.
The first opera house opened in 1701 in a converted granary, while the current theater building dates from 1873 following reconstruction after the German bombardment.
The institution maintains an Opera Studio for young singers and collaborates with two regional orchestras to deliver classical and contemporary productions throughout the year.
The box office operates Monday through Friday from 12:30 to 18:30, offering regular and reduced fares for various audience categories including students and seniors.
From 1919 to 1938, conductor Paul Bastide directed notable French premieres of international operas, establishing the venue's reputation for musical innovation.
