Salle Pleyel, Concert hall in 8th arrondissement, France
The Salle Pleyel features an Art Deco architectural design with exceptional acoustics and a seating arrangement accommodating 1913 spectators.
Following its 1839 inception on rue Rochechouart, the current hall opened in 1927 under architect Gustave Lyon's direction at rue du Faubourg-Saint-Honoré.
The venue transformed from a classical symphony center to a modern performance space, presenting jazz, rock, world music, and contemporary compositions.
Visitors access the concert hall through Ternes metro station, with advance ticket reservations available through the official website.
A fire in 1928 required extensive renovations that reduced the original capacity from 2400 to 2000 seats, leading to acoustic improvements.
