Château de Louveciennes, Royal château in Louveciennes, France.

Château de Louveciennes is a neoclassical residence with balanced wings on either side of a central section containing formal reception rooms. An orangery building stands on the garden side, completing the symmetrical design of the whole property.

The building was constructed in the second half of the 1700s by architect Ange-Jacques Gabriel as a private residence. It later became the home of a notable figure from the court of King Louis XV, marking its role in pre-revolutionary French history.

The residence is remembered mainly through its most famous inhabitant and carries her story in the minds of visitors today. The rooms and gardens reflect how French nobility lived and spent their time during the 1700s.

The property is located on Rue du Général Leclerc and can be visited only by prior arrangement due to its private status. Contact ahead of time to schedule your visit and confirm what parts are accessible to the public.

A dedicated music pavilion on the grounds once hosted concerts for the aristocracy during the years leading up to the French Revolution. This separate building reveals how seriously the French nobility took musical entertainment and performance.
