Château de Dunois

Château de Dunois is a medieval castle in Beaugency featuring buildings constructed across the 14th, 15th, and 16th centuries, with stone walls, an honor courtyard, and a chapel. The estate includes an elevated garden overlooking the Loire Valley and serves multiple purposes from exhibitions to event hosting.

Jean de Dunois received the castle in 1422 from his half-brother and undertook major reconstruction after the Hundred Years War concluded. The building evolved across successive centuries through modifications and additions that shaped its current form.

The castle now operates as a center for digital art, hosting permanent exhibitions that explore the intersection of creative expression, scientific innovation, and local heritage. Visitors can discover how contemporary installations occupy the historic rooms and spaces.

Evening video projections light up the courtyard walls Thursday through Saturday, creating visual displays against the historic stonework.
