Logis Pincé

Logis Pincé is an art museum in Angers featuring works from the Mediterranean region and beyond. The collection spans Greek pottery, Egyptian burial objects, Pre-Colombian art, and Chinese and Japanese pieces spread across multiple floors.

An architect named Jean Delespine built this mansion between 1528 and 1535 for Jean de Pincé, who was mayor of Angers at that time. The building later became a museum and now serves as a protected historical structure with this function.

The mansion displays artworks from five different cultures spanning ancient to modern times. Walking through the rooms feels like traveling across different epochs and lands, with each collection telling its own story.

The museum is located in Angers' old town and is easily accessible on foot. The rooms spread across multiple stories, so plan for enough time and wear comfortable shoes for exploring.

After 15 years of closure due to safety concerns, the museum reopened in 2020 with new exhibition spaces. The updated presentation methods allowed the older collections to be shown in a fresh way.
