Arboretum de la Vallée-aux-Loups, Botanical garden and arboretum in Châtenay-Malabry, France.

The Arboretum de la Vallée-aux-Loups in Châtenay-Malabry spreads across about 13 hectares with over 500 species of trees and shrubs arranged throughout the grounds. Suspended bridges connect different areas around a central pond with an island, creating multiple pathways for visitors to explore.

The garden was founded in the late 1700s by Chevalier de Bignon and later enriched with rare plants by a prominent botanist connected to Napoleon's court. These early plant-gathering efforts created the foundation for the collection that exists today.

The site holds important plant collections that visitors can explore in dedicated greenhouses and garden areas. Local people and tourists use this green space to walk among the trees and observe the natural variety on display.

Plan your visit during daylight hours, keeping in mind that opening times change between winter and summer seasons. You can walk through on your own or join a guided tour to learn more about the plants and layout.

The garden holds a national collection of morning glory plants along with about 66 bonsai specimens kept in a dedicated greenhouse space. Specialists and plant enthusiasts visit to see these particular specimens that are rarely found elsewhere together.
