Château de Boumois, Gothic castle in Saint-Martin-de-la-Place, France.

The stone castle features two earthen bastions at the eastern ends of the moats, with a main building and chapel connected by vaulted rooms.

Construction of the castle began between 1520 and 1521 for René de Thory, with master mason Jean Pymotz building the kitchen, pantry, and cellar staircases.

The castle chapel, dedicated to Saint Anne and consecrated in 1546, contained stained glass windows now preserved at Bob Jones University in South Carolina.

Visitors can explore the castle from July 1 to August 31, between 10 AM to 12 PM and 2 PM to 6 PM, except on Tuesdays.

The castle entrance features a late 16th-century portal influenced by Serlio's designs, with two turret structures added on each side.
