The castle combines architectural elements from different periods, featuring Gothic windows, an old well, and a monumental gate adorned with coat of arms.
Built between the 12th and 18th centuries by the Agoult family, the initial structure served as a fortified barracks to house soldiers.
The castle church served both as a noble chapel and a village church, demonstrating the integration of religious practices across social classes.
The castle remains under private ownership by descendants of the Vayson de Pradenne family and requires advance arrangements for guided tours.
The south section includes 18th-century gardens and pavilions designed by Jean-Baptiste François d'Astouaud, Marquis of Murs.
