Château de Monsec, Medieval castle in Mouzens, France.

Château de Monsec stands on a hill 80 meters above the Dordogne Valley, featuring an entrance gatehouse and Renaissance residential quarters.

The initial construction of the castle began in the first half of the 14th century, with a significant expansion including the entrance gatehouse in the 17th century.

Film director Léon Poirier selected this castle as the setting for his movie Jeannou in 1943, while artist Maurice Utrillo painted it in 1935.

The private estate includes a neo-gothic chapel, stables, barns, and a caretaker's lodge, with visits possible during specific periods of the year.

The castle facades display detailed sculptures of figures including demons, witches, and acrobats in a notable medieval style.
