Château de Novel, Medieval castle in Annecy, France.

The quadrangular stone structure of Château de Novel includes a round tower at its southwest corner and remnants of former defensive walls.

The castle originated in the 12th century as a stronghold for the Counts of Geneva before they moved their residence to Château d'Annecy in 1219.

After the French Revolution, the property transitioned from religious ownership under the Visitation order to become an agricultural facility for many years.

The castle stands at 60 Avenue de Novel in Annecy, accessible through various transportation options including bus routes and nearby parking facilities.

Count Amédée I of Geneva signed a significant agreement at Novel in 1174 under the arbitration of Bishop Saint Anthelme of Belley.
