Forêts National Park

The park extends over 242,148 hectares between Côte-d'Or and Haute-Marne departments, with forests covering 95 percent of its protected core area.

Established in November 2019, this national park represents the first French protected area dedicated to deciduous forests and plains conservation.

The territory contains medieval villages, archaeological remains, and the Auberive Abbey, which houses 3,000 pieces of contemporary art.

The national park features 2,000 kilometers of marked trails suitable for hiking, horseback riding, and cycling through dense forest landscapes.

Within the park boundaries, limestone formations create petrified waterfalls and tufa marshes, formed through centuries of mineral deposits.
