Port of the Dijon canal

The port of Dijon on the Bourgogne Canal is a 3-hectare leisure port and mooring area with waterside paths and garden spaces throughout the grounds. The site accommodates pleasure boats, includes a children's playground, and connects easily to the city center on foot.

The port was built in 1832 as a commercial hub for goods transported along the canal. Between 1979 and 1984 it was redesigned and converted into a recreational marina that focuses on leisure and tourism today.

The port has become a gathering place where locals and visitors stroll along the water and enjoy the green spaces, especially during warmer months. The way people use the waterfront paths and rest areas shows how this location transformed from a working port into a social hub for the community.

The port sits about a 10-minute walk from the city center and is easy to reach on foot. Visitors will find mooring spaces, a children's play area, and access to the entertainment boat Peniche Cancale.
