Square Boucicaut

Square Boucicaut is an urban park in the 7th arrondissement featuring mature trees and planted grounds laid out across the space. Austrian pines, alders, palms, and Judas trees grow throughout this landscaped garden, along with a pond for local wildlife.

The park takes its name from Aristide Boucicaut, founder of the Le Bon Marche department store, and was created in the late 1800s near his commercial enterprise. Its creation reflected the desire to add greenery to the neighborhood during that period of growth.

The marble memorial honors the generosity of Madame Boucicaut and Baroness Hirsch for their charitable contributions. This monument shapes how visitors experience the garden and reflects the values of those who created this space.

The park is open during daylight hours, with longer access during summer months and earlier closing in winter. Check ahead as opening and closing times shift with the seasons, so plan your visit accordingly.

The garden contains over one hundred trees, many surpassing 100 years in age and giving the space its mature character. A recently built pond was designed specifically to provide habitat for local wildlife passing through the area.
