Chapel of Our Lady of the Miraculous Medal

The Chapel of Our Lady of the Miraculous Medal is a small religious building in the 7th arrondissement of Paris dedicated to worship of the Virgin Mary. Its interior features marble columns, stained glass windows, and religious sculptures arranged throughout the space.

The chapel emerged from reports of visions experienced by Catherine Labouré in 1830, when she encountered the Virgin Mary. These events led to the spread of devotion to the Miraculous Medal and made this location a significant religious center.

This chapel is a major pilgrimage destination where Catholics come to pray and seek spiritual connection related to the apparitions of the Virgin Mary. Visitors light candles and leave personal intentions throughout the interior spaces.

The chapel sits on Rue du Bac near the Bon Marché department store and is easy to reach. Keep in mind this is an active place of prayer where respectful behavior and quiet conduct are expected from visitors.

Inside the chapel, the original armchair where the Virgin Mary sat during her appearances to Catherine Labouré is preserved behind protective glass. The building also houses the remains of Catherine Labouré and a conserved relic of Vincent de Paul's heart, both displayed in special shrines.
