Château de La Rochelambert, Medieval fortress in Saint-Paulien, France.

The castle stands against a basalt cliff, featuring an octagonal tower, machicolations, and battlements that demonstrate medieval military architecture.

Pierre de la Rochelambert established the castle in 1164, and it remained in his family's possession until 1922, surviving conflicts and transformations.

The interior contains a collection of Romanesque and Gothic sculptures, tapestries, and furniture spanning from the 12th to 19th centuries.

Guided tours operate at specific hours from May to October at 14:00, 15:00, 16:00, and 17:00, with reduced winter hours and Monday closures.

Novelist Georges Sand visited the castle in 1859 and used it as the setting for her novel 'Jean de la Roche'.
