Pointe Salvador is a mountain summit in the Grandes Rousses range reaching 3202 meters (10505 feet). The peak stands within the French Alps in the Hautes-Alpes region.
The peak played an important role in mapping and mountain exploration during early twentieth century mountaineering. Surveyors and climbers used it as a key reference point for navigation.
The trails leading here connect several mountain refuges where climbers meet and share local traditions.
The climb from Entraigues parking area takes roughly six to seven hours with an elevation gain of about 1400 meters (4600 feet). Proper footwear and plenty of water are needed for this alpine route.
From here you can observe the Lombard Glacier, a rare sight in this region. The summit also offers views of the distinctive peaks of the nearby Aiguilles d'Arves.
